These are once-in-a-year opportunities to be on retreat with Swami Kriyananda, the only direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda actively serving in India, as he shares the wisdom and message of his great guru. Among approximately 100 delegates from America and Europe are some of Ananda's most senior teachers, who will help lead classes and activities. To immerse yourself in a spiritual retreat, join us for a full day, a whole weekend, or both weekends.
Yogananda's Mahasamadhi Retreat
This is the annual gathering of Ananda Sangha worldwide. It includes discourses by Swami Kriyananda; practical presentations on a variety of spiritual topics; and an opportunity for Ananda Sangha teachers, meditation group leaders, members and friends to come together and help one another spiritually. Saturday evening's programme will be Swami Kriyananda's enriching one-act play "The Jewel in the Lotus". Sunday afternoon and evening will be for all those who feel inspired by Ananda Sangha and Paramhansa Yogananda, and who wish to use this inspiration to improve themselves and to touch others. Kriya Yoga Retreat
This first worldwide retreat dedicated to Kriya Yoga offers instruction and fellowship for everyone from beginning meditators to 'Kriyabans' (those who have received initiation into the technique of Kriya Yoga).
Some activities will take place together as one group. Others will be split into three groups, according to level of meditation practice. Kriya Yoga initiation will be offered to those who are eligible and, for the first time in India , to Kriyabans who are qualified we will give the Higher Kriya initiations.
Both Retreats
A feature of both retreats will be experiential workshops. Led by Ananda teachers from India , Europe and America , these workshops will give us the necessary spiritual tools, which can be practiced at home to permanently change our lives.
Another important element in both retreats will be group practice of sadhana, including kirtan, meditation, Yogananda's Energization Exercises, and asanas. Personal instruction in spiritual techniques at various levels will be available from Ananda teachers.
