Ananda Sangha Businesses in India

The universal teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the Autobiography of a Yogi, have inspired his direct disciple and Ananda's founder Swami Kriyananda to create or encourage a number of businesses to provide a variety of uplifting services and products.

Many innovative enterprises have sprouted in Ananda's 40 years in the USA, 20 years in Europe, and 5 years in India. Currently there are 6 in India. Several more (including a school) are on the near horizon.
Here are links to descriptions of our current Ananda businesses in India.

Ananda Solar Technologies

Our mission is to provide clean, reliable, economical electricity for all of India.
We distribute and install the most current renewable energy technology. Our hybrid system of wind turbine and solar photovoltaic panels provides more consistent year-round performance and reduce need for back-up generation. It can also be easily integrated into existing diesel-only systems to save fuel and provide 24-hour power.

Many renewable energy experts agree that a small hybrid electric system combining wind turbines and solar photovoltaic panels offers several advantages over either system alone. However, in certain circumstances we can also install one or the other, as well as customise a system that best suits client needs.

We are working with the government of India to bring renewable energy to rural villages so they can enjoy the wonderful changes that come with electricity—for instance, improvement in students' grades, increase in average income, and access to vast amounts of information about the outside world.

Success and Happiness Through Yoga Principles
(formerly Material Success Through Yoga Principles)

The Success and Happiness through Yoga Principles Course is for those who seek both material prosperity and fulfillment on higher levels of life as well.

Most courses on material success are written from the level of the material plane. They can give success on that level, but water cannot flow higher than its source. By contrast, Swami Kriyananda—author of the course—teaches how to influence the material plane from the spiritual plane.

Many people think these goals are mutually exclusive. Yet the same laws of life activate success no matter what the goal. In centuries past, India's culture was based on a balanced understanding of material and spiritual realities. The course teaches these same principles and demonstrates the mutual dependence of spirituality and material success.

Each of the 26 lessons is packed with information, examples, stories, inspiration, and solutions to common problems that face everyone seeking success. Request a free brochure by e-mail from materialsuccess@anandaindia.org or call 98734 08784.

Harmony at Work

Harmony at Work is dedicated to leading individuals and organisations toward greater creativity and success. We share tested insights and practical techniques that can be put to immediate use. All our training sessions are non-sectarian in approach and delivery.

One core deliverable from our programs is the Ten-Minute Recharge routine that participants can practice at home and the office to help raise their energy, release stress and distraction, and increase concentration and intuition. In addition to new perspectives, participants also take home practical techniques and practices such as breathing exercises, meditation, affirmations, and yoga postures.

Three of our core workshops are Energisation: Key to Self-Management; Working with Others, and The Importance of Right Attitude, described in detail at our Web site.

The Wishing Tree (Kalyana Kalpataru)

Ananda's store The Wishing Tree is located in Gurgaon's Metropolitan Mall, 2nd Floor, #12, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road (0124) 410-1385, offering uplifting and inspirational books, music, and gifts: the tools that support the lifestyle of meditation and seva advocated in the Bhagavad Gita and all the world’s great scriptures.

Among the products offered are CDs for deep relaxation or inspiration; incense and candle holders to outfit sacred space, meditation cushions and malas for japa; aromatherapy lamps and oils; mistmakers; booklets of affirmations; life stories of the great saints; harmoniums to accompany chanting; and much more.

The name of the store comes from several sources. One is the legend that high in the Himalaya exists a magic wishing tree. People who find this tree and sit beneath it can have all their wishes fulfilled. The Gita tells of another "wishing tree": the human body. Its "trunk" is the spine; its "roots" (rays of mental energy) are above; its branches (nervous system) are below. To make a wish "beneath" this tree means to affirm deeply anything one wants in life.

Yogananda's Spirit-in-Nature Essences

As Yoganandaji explained, specific uplifting influences and energies are inherent in certain foods. The 20 essences we offer in his name are natural remedies that stimulate spiritual qualities within our nature. These in turn promote psychological and emotional healing.

We prepare the essences using the elements of sunlight, pure spring water, and blossoms in their peak of bloom. They are completely safe for adults, children, infants, pets, and even plants.

Since 1977, when the essences began in the USA, they have gained worldwide recognition and acclaim. They are rapidly finding their way into homes in India, Yoganandaji's native country.
