Greetings from
Ananda India!
The new Ananda
ashram in India was officially blessed on Friday November 28th with
a Vedic ceremony. Swami Kriyananda led the procession around the
ashram. Devotees carried a beautiful rose quartz Ganesha, which
was installed in the entry, while incense was burned in all the
rooms to purify it for occupancy.
The grand opening
of the ashram will take place around the middle of December. We'll
let you know as soon as a date is chosen. We will also let you know
as soon as there are dates for public appearances by Swami Kriyananda.

Following a
short trip in India with Ananda members, Swamiji will be in residence
at the ashram from the middle of December until February 20. He
will then travel to Italy for the large Yogananda Mahasamadhi celebration
being held in Assisi at that time.
Dharma Das Schuppe
will head Ananda India as it's Yogacharya. His wife Nirmala carried
the auspicious pot of warm water over the threshold during the ceremony
to bless the ashram. Several Delhi residents were there along with
about 15 Ananda members from the U.S. who are here to help launch
this exciting new project.
The ashram is
located at B 10/8 in Phase #1 south of New Delhi in Gurgaon. The
first residents will be moving in during the next few days, with
others arriving in the following weeks. Residents will come from
America and Europe as well as India. The large ground floor is being
set up for public functions. The second floor is taken up by a large
terrace overlooking the area. Swami Kriyananda will also have his
room and office at the ashram.
Again, as soon
as we have details of public appearances by Swami Kriyananda, we
will let you know.
